Clean bars. Smooth throttle action. What you motorcycle needs. The Billet Proof Designs Internal Throttle routes your throttle cable inside your 1-inch handlebars for a clean, uncluttered look. Primarily designed for custom builds, but can be used on stock bikes, it combines six needle and ball bearings for exceptionally smooth operation with a spring-assisted return that helps the throttle return to its resting position. The difference is in the details. Multiple bearings support smooth, consistent movement, while the cable end fits into an internal barrel and secures with the included set screw. Installation requires basic hand tools and no welding, and detailed instructions are included to guide your setup. Designed for use with billet grips, this internal throttle can also accommodate rubber grips when paired with the Billet Proof Designs aluminum throttle sleeve, available separately. CHECK FITMENT BEFORE ORDERING This is a custom-fit component for 1-inch outside-diameter handlebars. Handlebar inside diameter and internal clearance must be verified before installation. The portion that fits inside the handlebar measures 0.792 inch in outside diameter and inserts approximately 2-5/16 inches. Some OEM Harley handlebars with thin walls require a split shim for proper fit. Dimpled handlebars may interfere with installation; check internal clearance for 7-1/4 inches from the bar end. Factory internal wiring cannot share the space occupied by the throttle mechanism because the components will interfere. A longer-than-stock throttle cable will likely be required. Confirm cable length, grip compatibility, and handlebar dimensions when planning your installation. THROTTLE ONLY Includes the internal throttle assembly, cable-retaining set screw, and detailed installation instructions. Grips, throttle cable, aluminum throttle sleeve, and any required split shim are not included.

Be aware of the handlebar ID: The ID of your handlebars needs to be at least 0.8” for this to fit. If the ID is smaller than 0.8”, you can bore the inside for additional clearance.

Throttle Dimensions: Length (Overall) - 7-1/4”, Length (part that goes inside the handlebar) - 2-15/32", Length (the part you twist) - 4-3/4", OD (part that goes inside the handlebar) - 0.792”, OD (part where your grip goes) - 0.998”

What kind of grips can I use with this item?: If you don’t purchase a throttle sleeve, you must run billet grips. If you use our internal throttle sleeve, you can run rubber grips.

What throttle cable should I use? We recommend running a universal throttle cable with an inline free-play adjuster.

Things to consider: Measure the ID of your bars PRIOR to install (the part of the throttle that is inserted into the bars measures 0.792"). Some OE Harley bars have a thin sidewall & will need a split shim in order for the internal throttle to work. A universal throttle cable with an inline free-play adjuster is suggested. You cannot run OE internal wiring with this throttle as the part that goes into the bars will crash into the wiring. May not work with dimpled bars for the same reason.
